Clotting time is the time required for blood to clot in a glass tube (in vitro). This test is used to diagnose hemophilia, and monitoring anticoagulant therapy. It is PROLONGED in hemophilia and in the presence of obstructive jaundice, some anemias and leukemias, and some of the infectious diseases.
