Anti-Mullerian hormone (AMH) is a protein that inhibits the development of the Mullerian ducts in the male embryo, and its levels can be assessed in serum. It is beneficial in pediatric endocrinology particularly in the case of mullerian duct persistence syndrome. It is also used in gynaecology for granulosa tumour diagnosis, and used as a marker for ovarian aging, since the number of ovarian follicles declines with increasing age. In females, HIGH AMH levels are associated with polycystic ovarian syndrome (POC). LOW levels are a predictor of poor responders in infertility treatment and ovarian pathophysiology.
